It Is Still Unclear What Nikol Pashinyan Discussed with the Military Leaders of the General Staff: Abrahamyan
Tigran Abrahamyan, head of the Analytical Center 'Henaket', wrote on his Facebook page: 'It is still unclear what Nikol Pashinyan discussed with the military leaders of the General Staff during their meeting, but one thing was not taken into account by the officers present at the visit. The Prime Minister needed footage from that meeting like air and water—images of generals demanding his resignation alongside military personnel who had labeled him as an evil but welcomed him during his visit. He achieved that. Even if it later becomes known that during the meeting the military had hurled insults at Nikol or berated the Minister of Defense, he still solved his minimal problem with that visit. People are not interested in what really happened; the vast majority are satisfied with what they have been presented, and Nikol knows how to ensure that.
But the issue lies elsewhere. Nikol does not have the task of filling content anywhere; for him, everything is superficial, including the power he himself has created. At this stage, his issue was self-assertion through the army, demonstrating his authority and strength, and he is trying to ensure that externally. As for the real consequences of this course of events and the destruction of institutions, that no longer falls within his interests, nor has it ever. The important thing is to stay in the saddle for as long as possible, even if all the pieces on the chessboard are sacrificed.
A crucial aspect that inspires optimism in this reality is that the fighting spirit still lives on in all layers of society and does not surrender.'
