Drivers Advised to Travel Exclusively on Winter Tires - Ministry of Emergency Situations

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

The Berd-Jambarak road is closed, as well as the roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region towards the Amberd fortress and the Karch lake.

The Vardenyats pass is closed for trucks with trailers and difficult to pass for other vehicles.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Emergency Management Department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetia region of the Russian Federation, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all vehicles. However, there are about 500 trucks backed up on the Russian side.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
