Driver Who Hit Two Citizens Identified

On March 8, at 21:25, an unidentified driver in Yerevan’s Gevorg Chaush Street struck 62-year-old Samvel Mayilyan, who died at the scene, and a 34-year-old man who was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The driver involved in the hit-and-run fled the scene.

According to the Armenian police, through operational-investigative measures carried out by the criminal investigators of the Yerevan city police and officers of the Mashtots police division, it was revealed that the individuals were hit by an 80-year-old resident of Proshyan village, driving a Hyundai vehicle. He was located and taken to the Mashtots police department on March 9.

The man has been arrested. An investigation is underway.
