Armenian President Ignites Tensions

Since February 25, the question of the dismissal of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Onik Gasparyan, has yet to be resolved after 13 days. On that day, the General Staff, led by Onik Gasparyan, issued a statement saying that the officers of the Armed Forces demand the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Following this, the Prime Minister submitted a request to President Armen Sarkissian regarding the dismissal of Onik Gasparyan, which the President had already sent back to Pashinyan once before. However, on February 28, he submitted the same request to Armen Sarkissian again, which the latter neither signed nor sent to the Constitutional Court. To this day, the issue of the Chief of General Staff's dismissal remains unresolved.

The matter is that according to Article 86 of the constitutional law on the
