Various Arms and Ammunition Turned in to Police Including Kalashnikov Rifles and Grenades
Police departments in various regions continue conducting explanatory work with the population to encourage the voluntary surrender of illegal weapons and ammunition. A resident of Aramus village voluntarily handed over a Kalashnikov machine gun, F-1 type grenades with detonators, and ammunition to the Kotayk division of the police.
As a result of the explanatory work carried out by the police in the Ararat region, cases of voluntary surrender of illegal arms and ammunition were also recorded in the Masis, Ararat, and Artashat divisions. In particular, the Masis division recorded the surrender of a Kalashnikov rifle with a factory serial number and ammunition, while the Ararat and Artashat divisions reported cases of voluntary surrender of handguns and ammunition.
The explanatory efforts of the police in the Gegharkunik region and the Sevan division were also effective. A man residing in Gavar voluntarily surrendered a Kalashnikov rifle and ammunition to the regional police. A resident of Lchashen village brought a factory-produced revolver, a grenade with a detonator, and ammunition to the Sevan division.
Cases of voluntary surrender of illegally held weapons and ammunition were also reported in the Vayots Dzor regional police's Jermuk and Vayk divisions. In both cases, citizens voluntarily surrendered Kalashnikov rifles, magazines, and various calibers of ammunition.
Thanks to the explanatory work of the police in the Akhuryan division, one resident of the Akhuryan village voluntarily surrendered a TOZ-type shotgun and various calibers of ammunition. The explanatory efforts of the Vagharshapat division were also effective; a woman residing in Musaler voluntarily surrendered her deceased husband’s revolver, a grenade with a detonator, and ammunition from the Artsakh war.
The police remind that individuals who voluntarily surrender illegal weapons and ammunition are exempt from criminal liability. In this context, the explanatory work of the police continues.
