Police Forces Being Deployed to the Capital from All Regions, Says Ishkhan Saghatelyan

There will be a bonfire, water, tents, and other conditions to maintain the street. This was stated today, March 9, in the evening, by Ishkhan Saghatelyan, coordinator of the "Homeland Salvation Movement," after blocking the entrances to the National Assembly on Demirchyan and Baghramyan streets, emphasizing that they will spend the night there.

“Let’s agree that all state institutions that perform unconstitutional actions must be blocked. The ruling majority has fallen into the hands of this madman; with our actions, we help them liberate themselves from his captivity. Nikol, write your resignation and leave; you have no other option. We have information that police forces are being brought to the capital from all regions. I want to address the police: boys, don’t do this, this army is not just ours, this state is not just ours; it is also yours. Do not obey the illegal orders of this madman. You have that right. Because of this person's actions, we have lost our homeland, we have suffered 5,000 casualties, your friends are in captivity, this man continues to surrender our homeland. You must not obey this madman; stand by the Army, stand by the state for the sake of Artsakh, for the future of Armenia, for the sake of your children and ours, for the sake of our people.

Dear people, this is not a struggle between the government and the opposition; this is not a struggle for power; this is a struggle for the salvation of the Motherland. Please evaluate the situation correctly: every day of this man's rule is a threat to our state. Yes, all institutions that are anti-state and anti-national must be surrounded. All those who have betrayed our people and state must be thrown into the dustbin of history. Nation, army, victory,” declared Ishkhan Saghatelyan.

In a conversation with journalists, the coordinator of the Homeland Salvation Movement stated that they will not allow the parliament to continue its activities, as the actions of the ruling majority are anti-national, anti-state, and unconstitutional. “With the knowledge and participation of the President of the Republic, the constitutional order has once again been undermined. If any institution in our country does not defend the constitutional order, we are ready to fight for it and defend it; this is our natural right. Whether we are ten people or ten thousand, we will fight as needed. People asked, why aren’t decisive actions taken? Now we are taking actions; let’s unite. Onik Gasparyan must remain in his position because this is not his issue; this is the Army’s issue. He should not comply with unconstitutional demands. Pashinyan is bluffing when he talks about snap elections; he wants to sign a memorandum with the opposition factions because he does not trust his faction; he is afraid that if someone else runs, they may be elected. I do not think Tsarukyan will sign a memorandum. Nikol should come and submit his resignation; only then will we open the way. I have spoken with the capital’s police chief, urging against provocations,” said Ishkhan Saghatelyan.
