False and Misinformation: The President's Office Denies Reports of His Presence in Baku
The Public Relations Department of the President's Office has denied reports claiming that the President of Armenia was in Baku on November 17.
“The information circulating in certain media outlets suggesting that President Armen Sarkissian was in Baku on November 17 is blatantly false and disinformation. President Sarkissian was neither in Baku on that day nor on any other day,” the statement reads.
“Regarding November 17, 2020, on that day, President Armen Sarkissian was in Armenia, in Yerevan, where he conducted scheduled meetings at the residence of the President, including a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Armenia, Alison Mary Leckler, who presented her credentials to President Sarkissian.”
The statement also urged colleagues to refrain from spreading absurd, obviously false information and fake statements from unidentified sources.
