Unclear Processes Occurring in Tavush, According to Turkologist

Today we were in Tavush: we visited several communities. The situation here is not straightforward. It is clear to me that certain processes are taking place, which, however, remain unclear both to the locals and to the general public. This is a significant issue in itself. Turkologist Varuzhan Geghamyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“The sad part is that many residents are influenced by narratives that reflect Azerbaijani and Turkish propaganda, which undermine the resilience of our society. The peak of this propaganda is the defeatist claim that 'Artsakh belongs to the Turk, and this land belongs to the Azerbaijani,' which is actively spread by certain well-known circles. Should this defeatist propaganda continue, it is not only the loss of Syunik that is a matter of time, but Tavush as well.”

During the visit, we were also able to see several unique places. One of them is the ancient lookout tower located in Verin Voskepar. Those who know the history of this area understand the significance of this location.
