Armenian hero Menua Hovhannisyan's mother, Karin Tonoyan, made a post on her Facebook page: "Today is March 8, and although I do not accept this holiday, which was imposed on the world for other purposes and has nothing to do with our mothers and women, I want all of you to remember that today, thousands of mothers will not receive flowers from their sons, but will give them instead... Today, thousands of beloved daughters and sisters will not receive flowers, but will give them instead... Today, thousands of Armenian men will take their wives and mothers to restaurants or lay lavish tables at home, justifying it by saying, 'Well, life goes on...' Yes, life goes on, and our sons fell precisely for that reason, so that life continues, but do not forget for a moment that you owe a debt, and life will only have the right to continue in the same way on the day you return the victory and homeland that were stolen from them—this is entirely the case," wrote Tonoyan.
