1490 Remains Discovered After Ceasefire: Summary by Emergency Situations Service
From March 1 to 7, 2021, the Crisis Management Center of the Emergency Situations Service received 912 calls, an increase of 151 compared to the previous week.
There were 6 registered fire incidents. Thanks to the high professional preparedness of the firefighters, all calls were responded to in a timely manner, and, as a result, there were no adverse outcomes or injuries.
During the week, there was 1 report of a road traffic accident received by the 911 call center, which resulted in 2 injured individuals. The preliminary cause of the accident was a vehicle veering into the oncoming lane. Special rapid response teams provided first aid to the victims.
On the front lines, sapper teams are operational. The discovery and destruction of unexploded ordnance and life-threatening weapons are carried out daily across the territory. Last week, there were 67 calls related to this issue.
Additionally, 79 calls were registered regarding social and everyday incidents, primarily concerning water supply, patient transportation, and opening doors or elevators.
Since November 13, 2020, rescuers from the Emergency Situations Service's rapid response special units have continued to carry out search and rescue operations for the remains of fallen servicemen and missing soldiers in areas outside of Artsakh's control. Since the ceasefire, 1490 remains have been discovered.
