Search Operations in Hadrout and Varanda Districts Yield No Results

On March 5, search operations conducted by the search and rescue teams of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Artsakh in the Hadrout and Varanda (Fizuli) districts yielded no results once again. This information was shared with Sputnik Armenia by Hunan Tadevosyan, head of the Public Relations Department of the State Services for Emergency Situations of Artsakh.

“However, the search operations will continue. Today, searches will only be carried out in the Varanda (Fizuli) district,” Tadevosyan said. Since the ceasefire, a total of 1,488 bodies have been discovered.

It is important to recall that on the morning of September 27, 2020, Azerbaijan, with the support of Turkey, launched a large-scale military offensive along the entire length of the Artsakh-Azerbaijan border. According to the announcement signed on November 9 by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the military operations were halted.

There are no official figures regarding the number of missing persons, captives, or wounded.
