Road Closures Across Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are road closures across the territory of Armenia. The roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and towards the Kari Lake are closed in the Aragatsotn Province.

The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for trucks with trailers, and the Shurnukh-Katari road in the Syunik Province is also difficult to traverse. Some roads in Syunik Province have areas of black ice. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.

According to information received from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open to all types of vehicles, although there are approximately 600 trucks backed up on the Russian side.
