If the military wanted to carry out a coup, they would have done it and would not have limited themselves to one step. Secondly, this was a move by the military to communicate signals to the public, the political field, and any forces that have established some presence in our region that the Armed Forces will not allow the collapse of the security system. The Armed Forces have essentially taken on the last pillar of preserving our statehood.

These comments were made by Tigran Abrahamyan, the head of the Analytical Center 'Henaket' and former security advisor to the President of Artsakh, in an interview with 'Factinfo' ahead of a rally of the 'Homeland Salvation Movement', referring to the statement of the General Staff and comments from representatives of the government claiming it was an attempted coup.

Abrahamyan noted that at this stage, Azerbaijan is attempting to gain concessions through pressure tactics. The Armenian government cannot ignore what Azerbaijan's activity in the border areas of the Syunik region may lead to. Azerbaijan will use all factors; the aim is to extract concessions, dictate its own rules of the game to Armenia, and move forward with its own agenda.

The situation continues to spiral towards a precipice, and this path makes losses in other directions inevitable. Security is the first concern, and its consequences will be felt by everyone.
