The Mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, has addressed the public via his Facebook page, stating: "Absurd information regarding the admission of children in Yerevan kindergartens has been circulating since this morning. We have repeatedly addressed this issue.

Understanding the parents' genuine concerns, I will provide clarification once again: The restrictions on admissions and attendance in community kindergartens have been imposed by the Ministry of Health, taking into account the risks of the spread of coronavirus. The Yerevan municipality does not have the authority to violate the Ministry’s decision. As soon as the Ministry of Health lifts the restrictions, Yerevan kindergartens will immediately admit about 7000 more children."
