Armenia Cannot Impede the Creation of the Zangezur Corridor. We Will Force Them, Says Aliyev

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has accused Armenia of "hindering the creation of the Zangezur corridor," according to Minval.az.

"We are ready to cooperate with Armenia. How many times have the Deputy Prime Ministers already met? Armenia refuses to cooperate. Now Armenia wants to obstruct the realization of the Zangezur corridor. However, they will not succeed. We will force them," Aliyev said during a session of the VII Congress of the ‘Yeni Azerbaijan’ party, as quoted by Interfax.

He noted that a number of projects related to transportation and communication are currently on the negotiation table. "One of the consequences of the war is, of course, the Zangezur corridor, which is a subject of discussion today. The Zangezur corridor is a historic achievement. The fact that the issue is reflected in the trilateral declaration is a significant political victory for us. Active work is currently underway towards the operational activities of the Zangezur corridor, many proposals are being discussed, and several transportation and communication projects are on the table; this is our next historic success," Aliyev added.
