Turkey Reports Preliminary Cause of Military Helicopter Crash
The preliminary cause of the military helicopter crash in eastern Turkey has been attributed to adverse weather conditions, according to the Turkish Ministry of Defense. As of the latest reports, 11 military personnel have died, and two others have been injured.
It is noteworthy that the military helicopter crashed yesterday, on March 4, while traveling from Bingöl to Tatvan. When contact with the helicopter was lost, drones, a CN-235 aircraft, and helicopters were immediately dispatched for search and rescue operations.
Earlier reports indicated that the general who lost his life in the crash was Osman Erbaş, the commander of the 8th Corps of the Turkish Ground Forces, who was involved in the development of the Bayraktar TB2 combat reconnaissance drone and participated in its testing.
