Azerbaijani Convoys Continue to Move Through Artsakh Towards Shushi and Other Occupied Areas: Abrahamyan

Tigran Abrahamyan posted on his Facebook page: “The movements of Azerbaijani convoys towards Shushi and other occupied settlements in Azerbaijan, through Artsakh, continue. As far as I understand, the main movements are being carried out along the route of Karmir Shuka-Shosh-Shushi, but I am aware that the routes of Akna (Aghdam)-Stepanakert-Shushi, Mataghis-Dhrmbon-Khankendi, and Mataghis-Vank-Khankendi are being used as needed with the accompaniment of Russian peacekeepers.

I am not even mentioning the movements of various cargo vehicles through different sections of the “Lachin Corridor.” Let me remind you that the trilateral statement of November 10 does not have any provisions regarding the possibility of such movements by Azerbaijan, yet it cannot be ruled out that they are organized based on “verbal agreements” or secret arrangements. A month or two ago, when it became clear that besides the November 10 trilateral statement, there was another secret agreement, it has not been made public until now.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia confirmed the existence of that agreement in parliament, but referenced the elements of its secrecy without providing details. There is no guarantee that a similar other secret agreement exists regarding the movements of Azerbaijanis through Artsakh. It is regrettable that these movements are not restricted even when Azerbaijan openly refuses to comply with perhaps the most critical provision of the trilateral statement—the return of prisoners of war, captives, and hostages.

What is preventing the Armenian authorities from unconditionally rejecting Azerbaijan's demands and whims, even those that are not enshrined in the joint statement? Is it fear, helplessness, ignorance, or are the concessions being made consciously and were they planned from the very beginning?”
