Who Will Replace Onik Gasparyan. 'Hraparak'

According to government sources, Onik Gasparyan will be legally dismissed from his position on Thursday. Names of candidates for the Chief of General Staff are being circulated: Deputy Chief of Staff Andranik Makaryan, who has not joined the call for Pashinyan's resignation, Minister of Defense’s Military Inspection Chief Jalal Harutyunyan, and former Chief of Staff Artak Davtyan.

We asked Davtyan whether he has received such an offer. He responded, “I am not aware.” When asked if he had been offered the position or not, he said, “I am not aware of anything.” If offered, would he accept? “I don’t want to comment.”

It is noteworthy that Davtyan was the Chief of General Staff from 2018 to 2020 and was dismissed after our publication during which he was celebrating his son’s wedding while in quarantine.
