Traffic Disruptions in Armenia: All Types of Vehicles Allowed on Lars Route

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported that there are currently closed roads in the territory of Armenia. In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the 'Amberd' high mountain meteorological station to the Amberd fortress and to the Kəri lake are closed.

The Vardenyats pass is open for all types of vehicles, though it is difficult for trucks with trailers (chains are necessary). There are patches of black ice on the Vanadzor-Dilijan road and on the roadways in the Syunik region.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Situations Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' crisis management center in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles, although there are approximately 600 trucks stalled on the Russian side. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
