President to Announce Decision in Coming Hours, Vanetsyan Provides Details from Meeting

The representatives of the "Homeland Salvation Movement" have completed a meeting with Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, where they discussed the issue related to the resignation request of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Onik Gasparyan. This was stated by Arthur Vanetsyan, the leader of the "Homeland" party, during a conversation with journalists.

"We met with the president. During the meeting, issues regarding whether to send the draft decree on the dismissal of the Chief of the General Staff to the Constitutional Court were discussed. The president listened to our views and stated that he would announce his decision in the coming hours," Vanetsyan said, without providing further details.
