Urgent: Military Chief Staff Demands Nikol Pashinyan's Resignation

The leadership of the General Staff, including Onik Gasparyan and all the corps commanders, has issued a statement demanding the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan. The statement was published by Samvel Asatryan, the head of the information department of the General Staff.

The statement reads:

“Statement of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia General Staff”
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia expresses its decisive protest regarding the dismissal of the first deputy chief of the General Staff for misguided and unfounded reasons, which was carried out without considering the national and state interests of the Republic of Armenia, based solely on personal and ambitious feelings. In such difficult circumstances for the country, such a decision is anti-state and irresponsible.

The Prime Minister and the government are no longer capable of making adequate decisions in this crisis and fateful situation for the Armenian people.

The Armed Forces have patiently endured the ongoing “attacks” aimed at discrediting them by the current authorities for a long time, but everything has its limits.

The Armed Forces have honorably fulfilled their duty to stand with their people against the enemy. The ineffective governance of the current authorities and the serious mistakes in foreign policy have brought the country to the brink of disaster.

In light of the current situation, the Armed Forces demand the resignation of the Prime Minister and the government while simultaneously warning against using force against the people, whose children have sacrificed their lives defending the Homeland and Artsakh. The military has always been with the people, just as the people have been with the military.
