Political Order Issued: Onik Gasparyan to be Arrested

According to ArmLur.am, a political order has already been given to initiate criminal proceedings against the currently serving head of the Armed Forces General Staff, Onik Gasparyan. Representatives of the government aim to arrest him, and the criminal case is specifically intended for that purpose.

It is noteworthy that Onik Gasparyan, together with members of the General Staff, had issued a statement demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Following that, Pashinyan deemed the statement an attempt at a military coup and submitted a request to President Armen Sarkissian for Gasparyan's dismissal. As of yesterday, Armen Sarkissian has neither signed the request nor approached the Constitutional Court. At this point, Onik Gasparyan continues to serve as the head of the staff.
