"If they are not in the General Staff, there will be someone else" - My Step MP
If they are not in the General Staff of the Armed Forces, there will be someone else: said Armen Khachatryan, an MP from the My Step faction, during a conversation with journalists.
"If they are not in the General Staff, there will be someone else. This is a state institution, and I will provide further comments tomorrow," the MP added.
According to him, it is not essential who will be in that structure. "The General Staff is a state institution; whoever wants to be inside is not conditioned by generals or individuals,” Khachatryan explained.
Armen Khachatryan further stated that the army is beside Nikol Pashinyan and has always been. "I am on the side of the government. Yes, the army is also on Pashinyan's side, and those 40 people are not the army; they are the commanders of the corps," he remarked.
It is noteworthy that today Armen Sarkissian did not sign the draft decree on the dismissal of Onik Gasparyan from his position and has appealed to the Constitutional Court regarding the compliance of the law on "Military Service and the Status of Military Personnel" with the Constitution.
