We Must Not Allow Similar Developments to Occur, Ararat Mirzoyan

National Assembly President Ararat Mirzoyan writes on his Facebook page: “Today is spring. Gor Kloyan, David Petrosyan, Armen Farmajyan, Tigran Khachatryan, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, Grigor Gevargyan, Samvel Harutyunyan, Zakhar Hovhannisyan, and police officers Hamlet Tadevosyan and Tigran Abgaryan dreamed 13 years ago on March 1 to live in a free, democratic, and happy Armenia. Due to the illegal order given on March 1, the use of military force suspended the democratic path of the Republic of Armenia for 10 years.

During these days, when several high-ranking military officials unacceptably attempted to interfere in domestic political processes, we must not allow similar developments to occur. Therefore, I call on all individuals, civil groups, and political parties to set aside political disagreements in memory of the victims of March 1 and to come together as one front to reject violence and threats as a means for resolving political processes. Our homeland must not undergo such trials again. Today is spring.”
