Vahan Kerobyan Meets with the Ambassador of France to Armenia
The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Vahan Kerobyan, welcomed the Ambassador of France to Armenia, Jonathan Lacôte, at the ministry. The Deputy Minister of Economy, Varos Simonian, was also present at the meeting.
The Minister welcomed the ambassador and emphasized that Armenian-French relations are characterized by a special friendship. He also expressed gratitude to friendly France for standing by Armenia during difficult times and for providing humanitarian assistance.
During the meeting, issues related to the development of Armenian-French economic cooperation were discussed, including attracting investments and potential financial support. Both sides stressed the importance of implementing joint projects in the economy. It was noted that there is significant potential for economic cooperation, and expanding the presence of French businesses in Armenia, as well as ensuring the continuity of projects implemented by the French Development Agency in Armenia, were highlighted as crucial.
The interlocutors considered cooperation in various sectors of the economy, including transportation, reservoir construction, agriculture, industry, tourism, digitalization of the public sector, venture funds, digital innovations, and regional communications, to be promising.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, French Ambassador Jonathan Lacôte noted his readiness to closely cooperate with the Armenian government to implement bilateral programs and further develop Armenian-French relations and expand economic ties between the two countries.
Agreement was reached to continue intensive work on projects of mutual interest.
