Unite Around the Army: The Republican Party of Armenia Issues a Statement
The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has issued a statement calling for a national unification around the army to protect it from internal and external encroachments. This was reported on the official website of the RPA.
"The treacherous authorities are attempting to dismantle the Armenian army, a child of the Armenian people. The years-long process of discrediting the army and spreading filthy lies is entering a new phase, with the open support of Azerbaijan and Turkey," the statement reads.
The RPA also demands that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan not blame military personnel for the failures suffered during the war. It notes that today’s statement from the Security Council reveals the deep roots of state betrayal within our country. According to the RPA Executive Body, this also constitutes a flagrant manifestation of unconstitutional behavior aimed at illegally pressuring the institution of the presidency.
The Executive Body declares that there are no alternatives to the immediate resignation of the person who has usurped the prime minister's chair. They call for all to fulfill their political and civic duty today at 18:00 on Baghramyan Avenue in support of Armenian statehood and the Armed Forces. At the same time, they urge vigilance and caution against provocations from the authorities.
It should be noted that today, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, a meeting of the Security Council took place, from which the President and Chief of General Staff Onik Gasparyan were absent. Following the meeting, the Security Council urged the President to sign the Prime Minister’s proposal to dismiss Onik Gasparyan.
