Nothing has changed in the status or operational conditions of the Armenian-Russian University: Rector

Nothing is changing in the status or operational conditions of the Armenian-Russian University. This was reported by the university's rector, Armen Darbinyan, in a post on his Facebook page.

As previously reported, Russia has declined to ratify the intergovernmental agreement on the operation of the Russian-Armenian University in Yerevan.

“Dear friends and colleagues of mine and the Armenian-Russian University, there was considerable uproar regarding the information that the Russian Federation has canceled the intergovernmental agreement on the operations of the Armenian-Russian University dated May 14, 2015. Overall, the responsible ministry—the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia—was obliged to provide clarifications about this and not create a confusing situation around the university, thus preventing various misinterpretations from arising. We are forced to do everything in their place. Thus, nothing is changing in the status or operational conditions of the Armenian-Russian University. Absolutely nothing. The university was established by an intergovernmental agreement dated August 29, 1997, and operates in accordance with the intergovernmental agreement of April 23, 2003. The Armenian side's ratified intergovernmental agreement dated May 14, 2015, was not ratified in Russia due to unresolved disagreements between the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. This is the whole story. So, be at ease and prepare for new breakthroughs,” wrote Darbinyan.
