No One Can Force Municipality Employees to Attend Any Gatherings

No one can force community servants, including municipality employees, to participate in any gathering. This statement was made by the Central Administrative District of Yerevan through a notice on its Facebook page.

“Today, a group of citizens stormed into the Central Administrative District’s executive body (municipality), claiming that employees were being illegally forced to attend a rally scheduled at Republic Square. Furthermore, the citizens who entered the municipality disrupted the normal functioning of the district's executive team,” the message states.

It was mentioned that this claim does not correspond to reality, but it was added that community servants are free to exercise their rights granted to them by the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and the legislation on gatherings after working hours. The municipality urges people not to fall for provocations, not to spread misinformation, and to maintain calm.

It is worth mentioning that today, those demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan are conducting an informational action, stating that today at 18:00, the Homeland Salvation Movement will carry out a protest march from Baghramyan Avenue. As part of this action, they also entered the Central Administrative District’s municipality.
