Famous Fake's Photo on the Wall of the NSS Building

The building of the National Security Service (NSS) is currently illuminated by a photograph of the fake account "Gagik Soghomonyan." It is worth noting that the NSS contributed to the increased recognition of this fake account by arresting several social and political figures on suspicion of managing the mentioned account.

Specifically, NSS officers conducted searches on February 19 at the offices of Ara Saghatelyan, analyst Karen Bekaryan, Azerbaijani expert Angela Elibegova, and constitutional expert Gohar Meloyan, seizing phones and computers, and subsequently detaining them. Angela Elibegova and Gohar Meloyan were released after refusing to testify, while Karen Bekaryan, Ara Saghatelyan, and citizens Mher Avagyan and Aram L. Sargsyan were arrested, and a request for their detention was submitted to the court.

Analyst Karen Bekaryan and citizen Mher Avagyan were released after the court rejected the NSS investigators' request, noting the lack of reasonable suspicion. Former head of the parliamentary staff Ara Saghatelyan and Aram L. Sargsyan were detained.

Ara Saghatelyan, who was detained in connection with this fake account case, is a former head of the National Assembly's staff, who has contributed significantly for many years to combating Azerbaijani anti-Armenian information policy, especially on international platforms. His detention has been viewed as political persecution.

It should be noted that despite the NSS's scandalous arrests, the fake account continues its operations actively, and the photo has been displayed on the building by members of the “Adequate” movement. According to Arthur Danielyan's hypothesis, the fake account is located within the NSS, and the arrest of Ara Saghatelyan is politically motivated, aimed at neutralizing an expert on anti-Azerbaijani propaganda.
