Prime Minister's Office Has Received No Objections from President Regarding Dismissal of Chief of General Staff

The Prime Minister's Office has received no objections from the President's Office regarding the dismissal of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Onik Gasparyan. This was stated by the Prime Minister’s spokesperson, Mane Gevorgyan, in a conversation with the media.

Earlier, media reports suggested that the President had raised objections to the Prime Minister's proposal to dismiss Gasparyan.

The Armed Forces General Staff had issued a statement on February 25, demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister and the government. Nikol Pashinyan characterized this statement as an "attempt at a military coup" and announced that he had dismissed the Chief of the General Staff, Onik Gasparyan, and his deputy, Tiran Khachatryan.
