National Assembly Council Meeting Cancelled Due to Absence of President, Says Marukyan
The National Assembly Council meeting was cancelled as the Assembly President did not attend and did not open the session, said Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction, during a conversation with journalists.
“In the previous two instances, the duties of the Assembly President were performed by Lena Nazaryan, who opened the session, however, there was no quorum and thus, no meeting took place. I now regard this as a disrespectful attitude towards one-fifth of the National Assembly,” Marukyan stated.
The meeting of the National Assembly Council was scheduled for February 26 at 11 AM. The agenda included one question: the discussion of the state of emergency proposed by the 'Prosperous Armenia' and 'Enlightened Armenia' factions.
