Erdogan: Pashinyan Is in a Situation Where the People May Soon Reach His Resignation

Turkey opposes any form of coup d'état, including in Armenia. The change of power is the right of the Armenian people, and the choice should be made by the citizens. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to the Anadolu Agency.

Erdogan labeled the call for Nikol Pashinyan's resignation by the Armenian general staff as 'unacceptable.' He remarked, 'Nikol Pashinyan is already in a situation where the people may soon reach his resignation. However, if we speak directly about toppling the government, our position is clear: we are against such a step.'

It should be noted that on February 25, the leadership of the General Staff, including Onik Gasparyan and all corps commanders, issued a statement demanding Nikol Pashinyan's resignation.

One day earlier, the Yerevan.today website published an interview with the first deputy chief of the General Staff, national hero Tiran Khachatryan, who notably laughed upon hearing about the 'Iskander' missile's 10 percent explosion probability and added that it was not serious.

Following the aforementioned interview, the Ministry of Defense issued a clarification stating that the article published on Yerevan.today distorted the content of the telephone conversation with Tiran Khachatryan.

Shortly after the clarification, Armen Sarkissian signed a decree relieving Tiran Khachatryan from the position of first deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
