Citizens' Rally Held in Artsakh in Support of the 'Homeland Salvation Movement'
Today at 16:00, a citizens' rally took place at Stepan Shahumyan Square in Artsakh in support of the 'Homeland Salvation Movement' and the demand for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's resignation. This information was conveyed to Tert.am by political figure Bella Lalayan.
“Citizens are participating in the rally to support the 'Homeland Salvation Movement' that began in Yerevan. While we are physically unable to join that demand, this rally shows that we are united with the movement. We stand by our army and demand the resignation of the incompetent government of Armenia led by Nikol Pashinyan, who has handed over Artsakh on a platter to Turks, trampled our national values, forcibly displaced thousands of our citizens, and deprived us of everything that has led to our losses. Only in this way can we correct our stance and rectify the mistakes that the treacherous authorities have inflicted on both states,” she noted.
Lalayan emphasized that if they continue to tolerate and forgive this government, the small gains of Artsakh, whose status is currently unclear, will also be endangered, as well as the regions of Syunik, Tavush, and Ararat in Armenia: “This government must be removed as soon as possible, and we must engage in the defense of our homeland. We stand by our army and see that Nikol Pashinyan is openly dismantling the military. His goal is for the Armenian nation not to have an army, and for Artsakh not to have an army, while our only guarantee of security is our military. We must be by our army's side—the army that was the most combat-ready in the region but has now become a humiliated and dismantled entity due to Nikol Pashinyan.”
Referring to Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan's statement yesterday regarding readiness to facilitate a mediation mission to honorably overcome the political crisis, Lalayan responded, “If Arayik Harutyunyan truly thinks about Artsakh, he must also demand Nikol Pashinyan's resignation, for he himself has stated in widely circulated statements that he is asking for help, but Pashinyan is not providing it. He must stand by us and our national army.”
