Brussels Blocked, Tbilisi Central Boulevard Blocked: Opposition Starts Its March

Up to ten thousand people have blocked Tbilisi's central boulevard and are marching towards the parliament of Georgia, reports Armenpress. The march is accompanied by the sounds of drums and vuvuzelas. At the front, party leaders are carrying a transparent sign reading 'For Freedom'. Participants include residents not only from Tbilisi but also from the surrounding regions who have come specifically to express their protest.

The majority of protesters gathered near the State Concert Hall (Philharmonic) and were joined by supporters of various parties who awaited the main procession. Representatives from opposition parties, civil society, and non-governmental organizations have come together to express their opposition against the arrest of the leader of the country's largest opposition party, the 'United National Movement', Nika Melia, and once again demand the appointment of early parliamentary elections.

They will march to the parliament building of Georgia, where part of the action will take place, during which further plans of the Georgian opposition will also be announced. The country's Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced traffic restrictions in central Tbilisi, reported Sputnik.
