Marukyan Calls on Armen Sarkissian Not to Sign Off on Generals' Dismissals

The leader of the "Enlightened Armenia" faction, Edmond Marukyan, made a post on his Facebook page calling on the President of Armenia not to sign the Prime Minister's proposal.

"The actions of the Prime Minister in recent days have aimed at further decapitating an already malfunctioning army by dismissing the generals of the Armed Forces General Staff, which is absolutely condemnable in post-war Armenia. I urge the President of the Republic, Armen Sarkissian, not to sign Nikol Pashinyan's proposal, to preserve the Armed Forces of Armenia, along with their general leadership, who now need our support in restoring the army," wrote Marukyan.

It should be noted that the Armed Forces of Armenia issued a statement demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister and the government while warning against using force against the people, whose children have died defending the Homeland and Artsakh. Following this statement, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan posted on his Facebook page inviting his supporters to Republic Square, describing the General Staff's statement as an "attempted military coup."
