Iran's Foreign Ministry Calls for Restraint Among All Parties in Armenia

Iran is concerned about the events unfolding in Armenia. According to Sputnik, official Tehran is urging all parties in Armenia to refrain from violence and to demonstrate restraint. This statement was made by Saeed Khatibzadeh, the official representative of Iran's Foreign Ministry.

“The Iranian Foreign Ministry representative calls on all parties in Armenia to display restraint and avoid violence. Iran is closely monitoring the developments in Armenia,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry reported.

It is noteworthy that the Armenian Armed Forces issued a statement demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister and the government, simultaneously warning against using force against the people whose children have fallen while defending the Homeland and Artsakh.

Following this statement, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a post on his Facebook page, inviting his supporters to Republic Square, while describing the General Staff's statement as an attempted “military coup.”

Supporters of the Prime Minister held a rally at Republic Square, while the opposition, after gathering at Liberty Square, marched towards the National Assembly. In front of the Parliament building, the opposition set up tents, preparing to spend the night there until they achieve the Prime Minister's resignation.
