Entered Fast Food Outlet, Took a Knife from the Kitchen and Attacked Mother's Ex-Boyfriend
The investigative department of the Center and Norq-Marash administrative districts of the Yerevan city investigative committee has uncovered several circumstances surrounding a 21-year-old's attempted murder of a 47-year-old man as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
According to the data obtained during the investigation, on February 20, 2021, around 01:15, the 21-year-old met his mother's former boyfriend on Paronyan Street in Yerevan to clarify personal matters. The conversation escalated into a scuffle, after which the young man entered a fast food outlet on the street, took a knife from the kitchen, and returned intending to kill the 47-year-old man. He struck the victim once in the neck and throat area, causing a cut-puncture wound diagnosed as an injury to the left side of the neck.
Realizing the real possibility of causing death, he nonetheless showed indifference and did not take any measures to assist the victim.
Based on sufficient evidence obtained, the 21-year-old has been charged under Article 34-104, Part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code (Attempted Murder). He has been detained. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
