Parking Lot and Agricultural Market Built Next to Meghri Customs Post
The Minister of Environment of Armenia, Romanos Petrosyan, announced on his Facebook page: "A parking lot and an agricultural market have been built next to the Meghri customs post and adjacent to the M-2 interstate road within the framework of the 'Support Program for Protected Areas - Armenia.' The executive body of the program is the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia.
Based on program proposals presented by targeted communities and the Regional Advisory Councils created within the framework of the 'Sustainable Rural Development - Armenia' program and in close cooperation with the Meghri Municipality, a parking lot and an agricultural market have been constructed beside the customs post and nearby the M-2 interstate road.
The total budget of the program amounts to 94,869,467 AMD, of which the investment from the 'Support Program for Protected Areas - Armenia' constitutes 43,474,200 AMD. Renovation, improvement, construction of retaining walls, and sanitary facilities were carried out in an area of 1,155 square meters for the agricultural market. Eight pavilions and road signs were installed. For the parking lot, renovation, improvement, construction of retaining walls, and sanitary facilities were completed in an area of 3,084 square meters.
