About the Photo of the Day: City Hall Provides Details on What is Happening
Yerevan Mayor’s spokesperson Hakob Karapetyan wrote on his Facebook page: “About the Photo of the Day. On the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the ‘Dari Ghongh’ Foundation has initiated the ‘105 Royal’ project, which aims to install 105 pianos acquired through a pan-Armenian fundraising campaign at the top of Tsitsernakaberd in anticipation of the anniversary of the Genocide. They will play classical works of art.
After the commemorative events, the pianos will be donated to music schools in Armenia, including 10 of them to the Republic of Artsakh. The project was postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic. It is now being implemented, with the program kickoff set for March 2 at Charles Aznavour Square.
The project initiated by the ‘Dari Ghongh’ charitable foundation is being carried out with the participation of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Yerevan City Hall. Several prominent figures in the arts and culture have expressed their support for the program.
P.S. After the events conclude, the pavilion seen in the photo will naturally be dismantled, and the beloved chess set for children will return to its place.”
