No Cases of Desertion Found Among Members of the 'Homeland' Brigade, Prosecutor's Office Denies Pashinyan's Claims
No evidence of desertion has been found among the members of the 'Homeland' brigade. In response to an inquiry from Factinfo, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Armenia has confirmed this, asserting that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan disseminated false information.
It is worth recalling that following the signing of the act of capitulation on November 10, Pashinyan attempted to assign blame during a Facebook live stream in response to citizens demanding his resignation, claiming that the 'Homeland' brigade had abandoned its position and needed to be prosecuted for desertion.
Approximately four months after this statement, Factinfo submitted a written inquiry to the Prosecutor General's Office to ascertain whether Pashinyan's allegations of desertion by members of the 'Homeland' brigade had been investigated, whether a criminal case had been initiated, and how many instances of desertion had been identified, as well as how many individuals had been charged.
The investigation revealed that no criminal case had been initiated and that no evidence had been found to press charges.
