International Pressure on the Issue of Prisoners is Increasing: Azerbaijan's Behavior is Becoming a Headache for It, Minister
The suspension of search operations by Azerbaijan is due to adverse weather conditions. Armenia's Foreign Minister Ara Aivazyan stated this during a briefing with reporters in parliament. “I am confident that in the coming days, as the weather improves, those operations will resume. The weather conditions have indeed been very poor,” he noted.
Addressing the issue of the return of military captives, Aivazyan said, “The issue of military captives is a top priority for us, operating under a 24-hour regime. Our inter-agency commission is working in all directions. If you have noticed, international pressure is gradually increasing, and Azerbaijan's policy of creating artificial obstacles to the repatriation of captives is slowly becoming a headache for Azerbaijan itself. We are hopeful that Azerbaijan will abandon its hostage-taking policy and will promptly address this crucial humanitarian issue.”
In response to a clarifying question about the timeframe for resolving this issue, Aivazyan urged patience, stating that everything possible is being done both by the authorities and the inter-agency commission, as well as by international partners.
