Our Iskanders are highly accurate weapons: Viktor Zavrazhin responds to Pashinyan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently cast doubt on the performance of Russian missile systems. He claimed that they 'did not explode or only exploded ten percent of the time.' This statement was in reference to former president Serzh Sargsyan's assertion that during the fourth day of the war in Nagorno-Karabakh last autumn, the Armenian army could have used 'Iskanders.'
In an interview with radio station 'Говорит Москва,' Viktor Zavrazhin, Deputy Head of the State Duma's Defense Committee, criticized Pashinyan's view. He pointed out that Pashinyan seems to be trying to emphasize his innocence in the outcomes of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. 'When a person strives to be innocent, they will link that to the Iskanders, and the guilty parties are the Armenian people and the military. This, of course, does not correspond to reality. Our Iskanders are highly accurate weapons; they have already demonstrated their capabilities in various exercises. Pashinyan's words are simply an absolute lie and are beyond question. It is not for nothing that the West often talks about bringing these short-range missiles into the negotiation process. They have been used very accurately and repeatedly in Syria. I must say that I do not agree with Pashinyan’s opinion,' Zavrazhin stated.
The war in Nagorno-Karabakh concluded with a joint statement from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia. According to the document, Yerevan handed over several territories to Baku, and Russian peacekeepers entered the region.
