Hearing in Case of Kocharyan and Others Adjourned
The hearing in the case of the alleged overthrow of the constitutional order was adjourned immediately after it began today. This was reported by the legal team of Robert Kocharyan.
During the declared 20-minute break, the court is expected to clarify the reasons for the absence of former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan's lawyer, Erik Aleksanyan, and his possibility to attend the session.
Prior to the hearing, the court received a motion from Erik Aleksanyan requesting the session to be postponed because he needed to be present at another session scheduled for today in the Court of Appeals. Danibekyan also noted that the court staff was informed by the Appeals Court that the session in that case was postponed immediately after it was scheduled, citing "other grounds" as the reason for the postponement.
During previous sessions, Erik Aleksanyan informed Judge Danibekyan about the scheduled session at the Appeals Court and requested not to schedule a hearing on February 23. However, the judge disregarded the lawyer's request, stating that Aleksanyan is aware that hearings in this case are held on Tuesdays and could have made such a request to the Appeals Court. Danibekyan also warned that Aleksanyan's absence would be viewed as disrespectful to the court.
