Vazgen Manukyan Leads People; Kocharian Questions Who is Responsible for Citizens' Actions

If citizens are considering seizing buildings, they should also think about the fact that these buildings are under state protection, which means the state has the right to use force. This was stated by the Chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, Andranik Kocharian, in an interview with Liberty Radio, commenting on the actions of the 'Homeland Salvation' movement.

'Vazgen Manukyan has been working well with the group of Nairi Hunanyan; now, he calls once a week to encourage one to break someone's legs and another to knock on someone's door. Vazgen Manukyan is leading people; who is responsible for the actions of the citizens?' said Andranik Kocharian.

He also added that the state is currently capable of protecting its citizens. 'Everyone should understand that there is no room for joking with the security system; our country is not in a state where it cannot protect its citizen and our state,' said Andranik Kocharian.

He noted that those spreading false information must be uprooted to prevent war within the country. 'If the actions are aimed at disseminating false and untrue information within our country, this should not only be condemned but also uprooted. This is one way to wage an internal war; instead of maintaining a ceasefire regime, we start to wage a war within ourselves,' Andranik Kocharian stated.
