The Decision to Release Aram Vardanyan on 75 Million Dram Bail Has Been Revoked; He Will Be Detained

The Court of Appeals, presided over by Judge Armen Danielyan, has today revoked the decision of the first-instance court to release Aram Vardanyan, known as "Vstrechi Apera," on a bail of 75 million drams and has made a decision to detain him. This information was confirmed in an interview with the head of the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor's Office, Arevik Khachatryan.

It is noteworthy that Vardanyan is accused of providing false information to the civil status registration bodies, forgery of documents, extortion, and money laundering. His case has been sent to court.

On January 8, Judge Vache Margaryan, while preparing the case for trial, addressed the issue of the appropriateness of the selected preventive measure of detention for Vardanyan and decided to change the preventive measure, deeming the application of the 75 million drams bail permissible, against which the prosecutor's office filed an appeal.
