Customs Authorities Discover 2030 Diamonds Hidden from Customs Control

The State Revenue Committee's Anti-Smuggling Department continues its persistent efforts to uncover and prevent illegal importation of goods into the territory of the Republic of Armenia. This information was reported by the Public Relations Department of the SRC.

Recently, employees of the Anti-Smuggling Department and the Southern Customs Directorate inspected a vehicle operated by Iranian citizen H.G. at the "Agarak" state border checkpoint. As a result of the customs inspection, 2030 diamonds hidden in a wallet located in the compartment between the front seats of the vehicle were discovered.

The Customs authorities have prepared materials regarding this fact, indicating a violation of Article 201 of the Armenian Customs Code, which were submitted to the legal department of the SRC.
