25 Artsakh Residents Visit Amaras Monastery Accompanied by Peacekeepers

The Russian peacekeeping troops continue to address issues in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. Russian peacekeepers are conducting round-the-clock monitoring of the situation at 27 observation posts and supervising the ceasefire regime.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the ceasefire regime is being maintained along the entire length of the contact line. Since November 14, 2020, a total of 52,700 people have returned to their former residences in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Humanitarian demining operations are ongoing in the region, conducted by engineering and sapper groups of the humanitarian demining center. “In total, from November 23, 2020, 1,474 hectares of land, 457 km of roads, and 1,440 buildings, including 30 socially significant objects, have been cleared of unexploded ordnance, and 24,870 explosive items have been discovered and neutralized,” states the report from the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Recently, Russian peacekeepers accompanied 25 Armenian pilgrims from Stepanakert to the Amaras Monastery and back.
