Closed and Impassable Roads in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed and impassable roads in Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass and the Berd-Chambarak highway are closed. The roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and the K'ari Lake are also closed.
The roads in the Amasia region of Shirak province, the section of the M-2 highway leading to the city of Jermuk, Saravan-Zanger, Tigranashen-Zangakatun, Vedi-Shaghap-Lusashogh, Alagyaz-Artik, Vanadzor-Dilijan highways, Sisian-Zanger, and the "Meghri Mount" section in Syunik province are difficult to traverse.
The Dilijan serpentine is closed for trailer trucks and difficult for other vehicles.
Snow is falling in the provinces of Ararat and Syunik, in Vanadzor of Lori province, and in Berd and Dilijan of Tavush province.
There is a blizzard on the Vedi-Shaghap-Lusashogh road in the Amasia region of Shirak province and in the "Chayni's serpentine" area of Kotayk province.
There are spots of black ice on the roads of Shirak province and in the Sisian-Zanger section of Syunik province.
About Lars: According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs Department of Emergency Situations and the Emergency Situations Ministry of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for passenger cars, but closed for other vehicles. There are about 400 accumulated trucks on the Russian side.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
