Chain Collision in Syunik Province: 10 Vehicles Involved Near Kajaran

Today, February 20, a major chain collision occurred in Syunik Province due to black ice on the road. Between 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM, 10 vehicles collided on the 329 km stretch of the Yerevan-Yeraskh-Meghri highway, at the beginning of the city of Kajaran, due to the icy conditions.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, fortunately, there are no reported injuries from the incident. The police are currently working to identify the drivers involved. Shamshyan also reported that the road was completely covered in black ice. The road maintenance service has not taken the necessary actions to treat the road, which has contributed to the accident.
