We Have Been Obviously Deprived of Our Freedom in an Illegal Manner: Davit Galstyan's Statement
Director of "Mosston Engineering" company, Davit Galstyan (known as "Patron Davit"), has released a statement presented below:
Dear compatriots,
Unfounded criminal prosecution is being conducted against me and individuals associated with me, and we have been clearly deprived of our freedom in an illegal manner. The reality is blatantly distorted and presented to the public in this way. The first-instance court has succumbed to these manipulations, which has been directly reflected in the text of the decisions made. Undeniable evidence has been presented to the preliminary investigation and the court that the shots provided were in accordance with the contract, and no characteristics were hidden. Moreover, before acceptance and payment, these shots underwent tests as stipulated by the procedures.
Analyzing the events following my illegal deprivation of freedom and the public comments by various individuals, I come to the following conclusion. It is evident to everyone that those responsible for the defeat in the war should be identified and punished. Taking advantage of this opportunity, interested parties have fully dedicated themselves to fulfilling their wishes of placing me among the top five guilty individuals. Perhaps at this moment I am the most suitable candidate, considering the nature of my activities.
The information circulating in the media in recent days regarding supplies circumventing the Ministry of Defense during the war gives me reason to believe that the illegal criminal prosecution against me is likely being sponsored or ordered by those who, despite all efforts during the war, were unable to earn millions of dollars by supplying the Ministry of Defense through obviously high prices and questionable means. These individuals are attempting to manipulate reality by distorting information through various media outlets and are also trying to create public sentiments related to the Ministry of Defense and its suppliers.
We remind that today at 16:00 the Criminal Court of Appeal of the Republic of Armenia will consider the appeal of Davit Galstyan’s lawyers regarding his detention.
